Description
Product information
The muzzle prevents the hornets from directly approaching the flight hole. Most bees are attacked by the hornets at the flight hole, making them easy victims. Experience shows that the hornet has to sit down first after passing through the muzzle before it can enter.
Behind the grid, the bees can get to the flight hole from above. We recommend additional protection with entrance block.
The muzzle is plugged in at the opening for the Varroa slider and should stay inserted from end of August until middle/end of November (depending on the weather).
It is essential that the Varroa slider remains inserted, so that the hornets do not disturb the colony from below.
The entrance block inserted from above should only be used after a few days. Once the bees get used to flying in from above, the flight hole can be narrowed with it.
For optimal use, a tension strap or similar fastening material (not included) is required.
Additionally required: Dadant entrance block against Asian Hornet, Item no. 6005311
Weight: 1.6 kg
