The BeeVital hornet trap is highly selective. Only hornets remain trapped! Insects, bees and others can easily exit through the small holes at the bottom or sides of the trap. The insects are never in contact with the attractant (important for the sanitary aspect depending on the attractant). The hornet stay alive for a certain time and attract other hornets with their pheromones !The hornets attracted by the attractant follow the light in the trap and remain in the collection containers. Please note that when using the trap, the local species protection regulations applicable in the region must be observed. If necessary, the trap must be checked daily for bycatch and, if present, this must be released in accordance with the regulations applicable in the region. The VelutinaTrap was made to capture the invasive species vespa velutina, while allowing other insects and bees to exit without difficulty.Efficient: Hornets confined in the trap emit pheromones, luring additional hornets, enhancing the trap's effectiveness.Hygienic: Insects never come into contact with the attractant, ensuring a clean and sanitary trapping process. When to use:- For the capture of fertilized hornet queens (foundresses), very early in spring, in temperate regions already in mid-February.- Since the trap is highly selective, you can leave it in place year-round to capture the hornet workers as well. - In fall, for the capture of fertilized hornet queens, in most regions from October.

OPTION 1: Dripping application in fall/winterRequirements: brood-free colony, temperatures above 4 °C, single treatmentSugar (sucrose) is required, which is also used for feeding the bees, for example.Preparation of the ready-to-use 3.5% (m/V) oxalic acid dihydrate sugar solution:1. Heat the container with the oxalic acid dihydrate solution in a lukewarm water bath (30–35 °C) and then remove it from the water bath.2. Open the sealed container, weigh out the required amount of sugar and add it to the container:• 222 g sugar when using the 500 ml bottle• 443 g sugar when using the 1 l bottle3. Close the bottle tightly and shake vigorously until the sugar is completely dissolved.4. Fill a syringe (or Dosa Laif bottle) with the required amount (maximum 50 ml per hive).6. Drizzle the lukewarm solution from above onto the bees in the honeycomb passages.Dosage for drip application• Small hives: 30 ml (e.g., DN, National, WBC, Zander flat frame)• Medium hives: 40 ml (e.g., Commercial, Langstroth, and Swiss hives)• Large hives: 50 ml (e.g., Dadant, Swiss hive)OPTION 2: Spray application in fall/winter or spring/summerFall/winter: Spray application once on brood-free colonies at temperatures above 4 °CSpring/summer: Spray application on swarms or during colony formation at times of day when there is no flight activityPreparation of the ready-to-use 3.0% (m/V) oxalic acid dihydrate spray solution:1. Open the sealed container and add drinking water with a hardness of I (0–7 °dH) or distilled water:• 200 ml water when using the 500 ml bottle• 400 ml water when using the 1 l bottle2. Close the container and shake well.3. Screw on a spray head. 4. Depending on the type of hive, spray 2–4 ml per honeycomb side occupied by bees.Dosage for spray application• Small hives: 20 ml (e.g., DN, National, WBC, Zander flat frame)• Medium hives: 25 ml (e.g., Commercial, Langstroth, and Swiss hives)• Large hives: 30 ml (e.g., Dadant, Swiss box)-----Mechanism of action• Sensitivity of mites to acidic pH• Osmosis: the oxalic acid dihydrate solution/sugar mixture penetrates via suction cups on the mite's feet• Systemic variant: the bee ingests the oxalic acid dihydrate solution orally until the hemolymph becomes lethal to the mite when sucked (the bee remains unharmed)• Diffusion: the oxalic acid dihydrate solution penetrates the cuticle of the mite, producing lethal calcium oxalate in the body• Increased toxicity of oxalic acid with sucrose• Oxalic acid becomes more hygroscopic when combined with sucrose• Better adhesion to the bee with sucrose• Greater oxalic acid exposure for the mites-----Precautions for users• Avoid contact with oxalic acid and inhalation of the spray mist, as the veterinary medicinal product irritates the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes.• Wear protective equipment when using oxalic acid: clothing that covers the body, safety goggles, chemical-resistant protective gloves, and a respirator (FFP2).• Ready-to-use oxalic acid dihydrate sugar solution may be attractive to children in particular due to its sugar content. Ensure that children do not have access to the product or the ready-to-use solution at any time.• In case of accidental contact/ingestion: rinse mouth with water and drink plenty of fluids, do not induce vomiting, wash skin immediately with plenty of soap and water and rinse well, rinse eyes immediately with plenty of clean, running water for 10 minutes, consult a doctor if irritation of the skin, eyes or respiratory tract persists.

The new Velutina Trap Pro is a live trap for catching the Asian hornet, Vespa Velutina. Other insects can escape or be released from this trap. The European hornet is too big for this trap and therefore cannot be caught. The trap consists of:• An extra-large plastic collection container (5 liters volume) that allows plenty of free space for captured hornets, incl. Inlet hopper and bait container with float.• To ensure that the collection container does not heat up under sunlight, it is protected by a wood panel.• Aluminium weather protection with suspensionAs an attractant, we recommend a mixture of 1/3 beer, fruit juice and sweet wine.+++ IMPORTANT NOTE: +++Please do not use sugar water as an attractant, as this will lure bees into the trap!

This oxalic acid vaporizer is designed for advanced beekeepers. The InstantVap 18V is the perfect oxalic acid vaporizer for Varroxal from Andermatt Biovet or other oxalic acid powders, for example. The InstantVap 18V oxalic acid vaporizer is powered by an 18V (20V) battery (battery and charger not included). The InstantVap 18V is the successor to the Oxavar Provap 18V, which is no longer available.Instructions for use of the InstantVap 18V battery-powered oxalic acid sublimator:1. Check that the power button is set to off.2. Connect a suitable battery to the InstantVap 18V oxalic acid vaporizer and switch on the device.3. Wait approx. 1-2 minutes until the device has reached the set temperature. The default temperature is set to 230°C.4. Insert the InstantVap 18V's exhaust pipe into the flight hole or a pre-drilled hole in the plaster wedge.5. Press the oxalic acid dispenser into the prepared oxalic acid powder.6. Attach the oxalic acid dispenser to the InstantVap18V oxalic acid vaporizer and activate the dispenser function so that the oxalic acid powder falls intothe vaporization chamber.7. The temperature drops by approx. 10-15 degrees during vaporization.8. When the temperature begins to rise, the oxalic acid has sublimated and evaporation is complete.9. Switch off the device and remove the battery from the device when you have finished the treatment.Advantages of the Instantvap 18V oxalic acid vaporizer:Professionally designed oxalic acid vaporizer – premium product1 Ah is required to heat up the Instantvap 18V for the first time. After that, each additional Ah of the battery can be used to sublimate/vaporize approx. 10 x 2g. The treatment time for a colony takes approx. 20 seconds with the Instantvap 18V.- Robust stainless steel design- Adjustable temperature control- Thermostat for temperature control- Mobile use- Power 330 W- CE-certified product manufactured in Europe- Continuous operation once the temperature is reachedUseful information:Before vaporization, all openings of the beehive should be covered with a damp cloth or foam rubber. After completing the work, disconnect the device from the battery and pour some water into the vaporization chamber until it comes out at the front to clean the device of oxalic acid residues. With a 5Ah battery, approx. 30 to 50 colonies can be treated, depending on the temperature and vaporization quantity. Please never use the device without appropriate protective equipment. The InstantVap 18V is not suitable, or only suitable to a limited extent, for vaporizing Api Bioxal. The combustion chamber would have to be cleaned after each individual vaporization, as Api Bioxal contains an additive that leaves residues in the vaporization chamber during vaporization. This works perfectly with conventional oxalic acid powder.
